Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has confirmed another 43 coronavirus cases and nine new deaths in Victoria.
Premier Andrews said the nine deaths – seven of which were linked to aged care outbreaks - brought Victoria’s virus death toll to 710 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Mr Andrews said there were still 4303 cases with an unknown source.
He said there was “great cause for optimism in Victoria” but warned there was still work to be done.
“You can’t possibly hope to open up and keep numbers low if you don’t first get those numbers as low as you possibly can,” he said.
